Steel fibers can be combined with reinforced concrete to get a hybrid system (SF-RC). TU-Eindhoven has performed 30 tests on reinforced concrete beams with and without the addition of steel fibres. Both shear tests and bending tests have been performed. The aim of the project is to show the capacity of SF-RC against RC. For each configuration, multiple beams have been tested to obtain the statistical repetition. This paper includes the background of the experimental tests and the result analysis of the tests. With the help of DIANA model, the back calculation of the shear beam tests has been performed. The numerical model makes the validation of the test possible. It shows that the safety factors in the Model Code 2010 (MC2010) can be used for designing the SF-RC (Steel Fiber and Reinforced Concrete) structures.
