We are looking for a Technical Support Engineer (Intermediate) who is passionate about engineering applications in civil and geotechnical fields using finite element analysis methods and DIANA program. We seek an enthusiastic support engineer with an entrepreneurial spirit.

As a Technical Support Engineer for DIANA, you are the key player who understands the engineering needs of the clients from a constructive point of view, while working with/on advanced software within a diverse spectrum of civil/geotechnical engineering. Together with a professional second-line support team, you provide practical and comprehensive solutions to the daily technical challenges raised by our clients worldwide.

As an active member of this team, you will also contribute to our high-standard profile by proactively focusing on the quality assurance of the functionality of the software. You are the representative for clients with specific needs, and you get excited from translating that into improvement specifications for the software package. 

Your main responsibilities are: 

  • Lead the customers and DIANA partners with high-end technical support & consulting team.
  • Assist clients in solving their FEA modeling and analysis challenges.
  • Find workarounds, or solutions to problems and communicate these to clients.
  • Collaboratively work with the software development team to fix bugs, understand, and register customer needs, give indications to increase user friendliness and help prioritize developments in DIANA software.
  • Lead testing activities of bug fixes and new software features.


The Lead Support engineer we are looking for is foremost driven by technology, engineering and high-end computing. Next to that you have: 

  • Master’s or Ph.D. degree in Civil/Geotech engineering with a focus in structural and geomechanics fields.
  • Solid understanding of finite element analysis methods.
  • Work experience with at least one of the prominent finite element software such as DIANA, ABAQUS, Ansys, Comsol, Plaxis or similar software products. 
  • Knowledge of Rocscience Tools, RS2/RS3 is a plus.
  • Familiarity with 3D CAD software such as AutoCAD, Rhino, or similar.
  • Having some practical analysis and design experience in civil and geotechnical engineering would be seen as advantageous. 
  • Familiarity with Python or other scripting languages is a plus.
  • You can deal with clients’ deadlines in a pleasant non-intrusive manner. 
  • Problem-solving experience with both clients and internally.
  • Fluent in English, written and oral. Knowledge of other languages is an advantage.
  • Strong personal motivation and good interpersonal skills – able to fit in with a multi-disciplinary team of professionals.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and organizational skills.
