Install the DIANA software and Activate your DIANA license

The pages below contain instructions for installing the DIANA software and for (re)activating the DIANA license.

1. Download the DIANA for Windows software from the Downloads page of the website.

2. Extract the downloaded DianaSetup.zip file by clicking on it with the right mouse button and by choosing the option “Extract all…”.

 

3. Run the DIANA software setup by clicking on it with the right mouse button and by choosing the option “Run as administrator”.

 

4. Select the option “I agree to the license terms and conditions” and click on the “Install” button.

 

5. Wait until the Sentinel Runtime Environment is installed

 

6. Click on the “Next” button to start installing the DIANA for Windows software

 

7. Choose the preferred setup type and click on the “Next” button.

 

8. Click on the “Install” button to start the installation of the DIANA for Windows software.

 

9. Wait until the DIANA for Windows software is installed.

 

10. Click on the “Finish” button when the installation is finished.

 

11. Click on the “Close” button to close the DIANA for Windows software installer.

12. Proceed with activating your DIANA license as described in one the next howto’s.

 

Important remarks:

1. If your company uses more than one DIANA license, or if your company would like to share one license with more employees, we recommend setting up a central networked DIANA license server in the company computer network. Please refer to “How to setup a central networked DIANA license server” for further instructions.

2. If your company uses only one DIANA license, you can activate your DIANA license on the DIANA license server that was automatically installed on the computer where you installed DIANA for Windows. Please refer to “How to activate your DIANA software license” for further instructions.

1. Install the required packages: 
sudo yum install mesa-libGL mesa-libGLU libpng libicu

2. Create a new user with username “diana106”:
useradd diana106

3. Login with “diana106”. DIANA for Linux will be installed in of the home directory of the user “diana106”. Before installing, remove any previous DIANA for Linux installations:
/bin/rm -rf /home/diana106/.??* /home/diana106/*

4. Download the DIANA for Linux software from the Downloads page of the website into the home directory of user “diana106”.

5. Extract the downloaded dianaLinux.tar.gz file into the home directory of user “diana106”:
tar zxf dianaLinux.tar.gz

6. Run the automated configuration script of DIANA for Linux:
./configureDiana

7. Create user environment settings manually (or automatically by adding to .bash_profile):
./home/diana106/.dialogin 

8. Download the DIANA license server for Linux (called the “HASP Driver“ or “Sentinel Runtime Environment“) from the Downloads page of the website into the home directory of user “diana106”.

9. Extract the downloaded aksusbd_3659-9.12.1.tar.gz file into the home directory of user “diana106”:
tar zxf aksusbd_3659-9.12.1.tar.gz

10. Move into the directory that contains the unpacked files:
cd askusb_3659-9.12.1

11. With root privileges, install the DIANA license server for Linux:
sudo ./dinst

13. After installation, go to http://localhost:1947 and check whether the “Sentinel Admin Control Center” opens properly. 

14. Proceed with activating your DIANA license as described in one the next howto’s.

3. This howto consists of two parts: one part for installing the Windows-based central networked DIANA license server, and one part for installing the Linux-based central networked DIANA license server.

 

 

W1. From the Windows-based central networked DIANA license server, download the DIANA license server for Windows (called the “HASP Driver“ or “Sentinel Runtime Environment“) from the Downloads page of the website.

W2. Extract the downloaded haspdinst_3659-9.12.1.zip file by clicking on it with the right mouse button and by choosing the option “Extract all…”.

W3. Start the Sentinel Run-time Environment from the command prompt, by starting the executable. Don’t forget to include the -i option!

W4. Before the actual installation starts, Windows SmartScreen might give a message, explaining that an unrecognized app was prevented from starting. Click on the “more info” text and on the “Run anyway” button to start the installation.

  

W5. Wait until the Sentinel Run-time Environment installation is finished.

W6. Click on the “OK” button to finish the Sentinel Run-time Environment installation.

 

L1. From the Linux-based central networked DIANA license server, download the DIANA license server for Linux (called the “HASP Driver“ or “Sentinel Runtime Environment“)
from the Downloads page of the website into the home directory of user “diana106”.

L2. Extract the downloaded aksusbd_3659-9.12.1.tar.gz file into the home directory of user “diana106”:
tar zxf aksusbd_3659-9.12.1.tar.gz

L3. With root privileges, install the DIANA license server for Linux
sudo ./dinst

 

1. After installation of the Windows or Linux-based central networked DIANA license server, go to http://localhost:1947 and check whether the “Sentinel Admin Control Center” opens properly.

2. Open http://localhost:1947 on the license server and allow computers in your network to connect to the central Networked DIANA license server, by choosing the options “Configuration”, “Access from Remote Clients”, and “All licenses are accessible without need of identity”.

3. Open http://localhost:1947 on each computer you run DIANA on and let it search for a DIANA license on the central networked DIANA license server, by choosing the options “Configuration”, “Access to Remote License Managers”, and enter the hostname (or IP address) of your central networked DIANA license server. Turn off the option “Broadcast Search for Remote Licenses” as well to prevent unneeded network traffic.

4. Open http://localhost:1947 on each computer you run DIANA on and disable it to act as a license server for other computers in the network, by choosing the options “Configuration”, “Access from Remote Clients”, and “No one”.

5. Depending on your company security policies, you should enable firewalls on your central networked license server and/or on the computers where you use DIANA to allow incoming and outgoing UDP and TCP communication on port 1947.

 

1. Open the email message you received that contains the Entitlement Certificate and find the product key as mentioned at “Product Key”.

2. If you run a central networked DIANA license server, perform the next steps from the license server. Otherwise, perform the next steps from the computer where you run DIANA.

3. Go to https://dianafea.sentinelcloud.com/ems/customerLogin.html, paste the product key you received in the email message and click on the “Login” button.

4. We suggest you use the “Online Activation” method because this method is the easiest one. If you prefer the “Offline Activation”, please continue with step 7. For “Online Activation”, click on the “Online Activation” button. After you clicked the button, the DIANA license is activated.

5. You will receive an automatically generated mail message that contains the License Certificate, which you can keep for your records. The “Online Activation” is finished.

 

 

6. For Offline Activation, remember to perform the next steps from the networked DIANA license server if you use one. Otherwise, perform the next steps from the computer where you run DIANA.

7. Go to http://localhost:1947, click “Sentinel Keys” and then on the “Fingerprint” option. A file with a .C2V extension will be downloaded.

8. Go to https://dianafea.sentinelcloud.com/ems/customerLogin.html, paste the product key you received in the email message, click on the “Login” button, click on the “Offline Activation” link, and select the fingerprint/C2V file you just created.

9. Click on the Generate button. You will see a confirmation message and you will soon receive an automatically generated message with the license certificate.
Click on “V2C File” to download the V2C file that you will soon receive by email as well.

10. Please follow the steps as mentioned in “How to update your DIANA software license” to finish the “Offline Activation”.

 

1. If you run a central networked DIANA license server, perform the next steps from the license server. Otherwise, perform the next steps from the computer where you run DIANA. 

2. Open the email message you received that contains the License Certificate and download the attached “V2C file”.

3. Go to http://localhost:1947, click on “Update/Attach, click on “Select file” and upload the “V2C file” that you received by email, and click on the “Apply File” button.

4. You will see a confirmation that the license is updated.

5. Click on the “Features” link to see the active features of the license.
